General Dynamics Information Technology has a 10 year contract to develop and maintain front-end business integration central to the processing of federal grants and loans to students. General Dynamics developed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Web system allowing students to apply for financial aid securely and at their convenience using the Internet. Currently, more than 99 percent of applicants use the FAFSA on the Web service, saving tens of millions of dollars in paper processing costs.
The Federal Student Aid Information Center, a high volume, multi-channel contact center responds to and initiates more than 10 million contacts from students, parents, and schools annually. Our self-service channels have allowed us to greatly reduce the number of inquiries, improve students’ experience and lower operational costs.
