Case Studies

Federal Health Architecture (FHA) Program Management Office: General Dynamics Information Technology plays an integral role in supporting the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology's mandate that most Americans have interoperable EHRs within 10 years.

General Dynamics Information Technology serves as the Program Management Office for the Federal Health Architecture (FHA), a program within ONC coordinating Federal efforts to create interoperable exchanges of electronic health information. General Dynamics Information Technology was a leader in developing the architecture for CONNECT – the FHA initiative to link Federal agencies to the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN), a "network of networks" designed to connect existing efforts to exchange EHRs at the local and regional levels, ensuring both interoperability and confidentiality.
